Meet Our Talented Hairstylist Team

Josie Poehlmann
Stylist/Colorist/Owner
“Helping people to achieve their personal vision of how they want to look has been the most rewarding part of my forty year career. Touching lives while cutting , designing, coloring and texturizing my clients hair has enabled me to grow as a person and a professional.
My advanced education in New York City at the Redken Exchange has focused on Design, Fashion Trends and Color. This has given me the ability to recognize when to apply a trendy or classic design. Each image has its place and knowing who can pull off a look takes time and communication. Personal interaction is important. As I begin to know someone better, the easier it becomes to create the look that is right for them. I love working with reds and feel most clients can wear them if the depth and tone are properly selected. A beautiful red turns heads. Another important element in client satisfactions is providing complete information on what and how to use products and appliances.
"As a salon owner for 34 years, mentoring young stylists in all phases of the industry with quality education has allowed Josie’s, a fine salon in the Fox Chase area of Philadelphia to stay fashion forward. Now as co-owner of Studio B, these same elements of management are my mission statement here as well.”

Susie Parker
Owner/HairColor Specialist
“I am very fortunate to have spent the last 35 years working at my passion, coloring hair.”
In the past 17 years, Susie was an important link in the color department of a well known Northeast Philadelphia Salon that specialized in hair color. It was here that she built her impeccable reputation with color placement and formulation. She has traveled extensively learning and teaching fashion forward techniques and innovative ideas in haircolor.
“I enjoy educating apprentices in the art of color. I help them to see the color of a person’s hair as the frame on a picture. Just as the frame on a picture accents the work of art, so does the haircolor emphasize the features on one’s face. Once this principle is understood and mastered, the fun and excitement of coloring hair begins. I am excited about this new beginning at Studio B and look forward to many years of working with our talented staff and creating beautiful color for all of our clients.”

Colleen
Stylist
Colleen is a dedicated stylist who always goes the extra mile to please clients. Her expertise in formal hair design is impeccable.
“I feel so satisfied when I know a client loves what I created for their special occasion. It is as though I am with them throughout their day.”
Colleen also enjoys helping mature clients find a style that is low maintenance. Texture services are also an important service she often provides to help those with thinning hair. Educated in design and fashion trends in New York, as well as many years of hands on experience, she loves to do precision cutting.

Lois Weisberg-Liss
Haircolorist/Keratin Specialist
“We all have a vision of how we want to see ourselves and it's my pleasure to make this vision your reality”
With over 23 years specializing in Haircolor, I consider the color of your eyes, skin tone, and lifestyle to create your best look. I love selecting the proper blonde for a client. A correction can be major changes or subtle ones, but when I provide that service, it makes it all worthwhile. Since being certified as a Keratin specialist, I have developed a passion for the healthier, shinier texture this brings to hair. Marrying these services together results in magnificent color reflection of the hair.

Michelle
Stylist/Haircolorist
Michelle has a natural ability to read the hair. Twenty years of experience have allowed her to develop a special talent for creating a design that will fit each client’s needs. She has learned Design Comprehension in New York at the Redken Exchange along with fashion Trends and Color.
“I enjoy putting a more modern twist on texturizing long hair. Tight curls are not always the best choice for texture. Something soft and natural is what is edgy right now and that is what I see getting more popular as we move forward in fashion. I like to create easy dimensional color for faster services that need little maintenance.”

Margarita
Stylist/Haircolorist
Whether straightening or curling long hair, Margarita has command of the hair. Formal hair is another talent she provides to her clients. She has recently returned from the Redken Exchange in New York and has brought back some fresh looks that she is now adding to her cutting portfolio.
“My favorite thing is to try new colors on clients. I am always looking through magazines or on tv to develop fresh ideas. Edgy fashion colors or soft natural highlights are both fashionable, but knowing what looks best on a client is what makes you the professional.”

Janine
Make-up Artist, Assoc. Service Provider
Janine has an eye for helping clients accomplish the impact they are trying to achieve in their makeup artistry. The most common complaint in makeup application is looking overdone. Janine tries to consult with the clients to find out their personalities and complimentary color palates.
“Josie and Susie have a desire to help younger staff members learn who they really are. Working at Studio B has helped me to discover how much I love this industry. This has helped me to find my passion and inner talent. I learn from the talented, experienced staff, which style, cut, and color hair, while I can express my own creativity in extending the makeup service to our Studio B clients.”

Marie
Front Desk Service Representative
Providing client satisfaction, Marie’s enthusiasm and commitment to excellent customer service is a benefit to everyone at Studio B.
“I know how I like to be treated at a salon so that is what I try to achieve for our guests at Studio B. Making sure clients are aware of the services we provide as well as any retail specials we are offering allows me to offer excellent customer service”

Rachel
Front Desk Service Representative
Rachel’s calming voice and personality are a perfect addition to our support staff. “Although I was trained as a cosmetologist, I could not find the right starting point for myself. Last year, I worked at Josie’s original salon as a support person and that sparked my interest to be around the fashion industry. I like to help grow our business by posting Facebook news and e-mail announcements about what is being promoted and what we are doing creatively in the salon. Studio B’s relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes it easy for me to make our guests feel comfortable.”
